Updating email password in Mac Mail
Before updating your password in an email app, please verify you have the correct password for your HIS-hosted email account by login to webmail.
Once you have confirmed you have the correct password:
- Open Mail on your Mac.
- Click on Mail in the top-menu, then select Settings ( or Preferences on older Macs).
- Select the Email Account you wish to update password for on the left hand side.
- Click the Server Settings tab.
Incoming Mail Server
- Under Incoming Mail Server, update the Password field with your new/current password.
Outgoing Mail Server

Under Outgoing Mail Server, update the Password field with your new/current password.

Click Save near the bottom-right of the window.

Click on the red x to close the Accounts window and confirm to save the changes
Mac Mail’s interface and layout may appear differently depending on your version of MacOS.
