Enabling Secure Connections in Outlook 2010

1- On your computer, click the Start Menu and select Control Panel.

2- Double-click the Mail icon to open it.

3- Click on E-mail Accounts.

4- Select your HIS-hosted email account and click Change.

5- Click on More Settings.

6- Click the Advanced tab.

7- Change to secure ports:

For IMAP: Enter port 993 as the Incoming server port.

For POP: Enter port 995 as the Incoming server port.
Make sure that SSL/TLS is chosen from the "Use the following type of encrypted connection" drop-down box.

For Outgoing server (SMTP)
Enter
port: 587
and choose STARTTLS from the drop-down box next to Use the following type of encrypted connection.

Or
port: 465
and choose SSL/TLS from the drop-down box next to Use the following type of encrypted connection.

8- Click OK.
