Archiving/Deleting old messages in bulk on Zimbra Webmail
After a while, messages pile-up in your account and you'd like to delete some of them. If you'd like to keep a backup of the messages before deleting them, here is one way to do it in webmail.his.com (Zimbra webmail):

To export and then delete email messages from Zimbra webmail
1- In Zimbra Webmail, Click on the Mail Tab, and from the folders list on the left, click on + to create a new folder, for example Archive_2008.
2- In Zimbra, do a search to locate all messages prior to Jan 1 2009: In the searchbox, type before:01/01/2009.
3- Select all the messages in the search results.
4- Right-Click and select "Move" and move them to the Archive_2008 folder.
5- Click on the Preferences Tab, and select Import/Export in the left menu to open the Import/Export page.
6- Under Export, leave "Account" selected to export mail messages, then either leave "All Folders" selected or click there and and select the folder you'd like to export. Here we are going to select Archives_2008.
7- Click on Export. You will be prompted to either open the resulting .tgz file or save it to your computer. Select Save and select a location to save it on your computer.
8- If you want to delete the folder and its messages:
- Go back to your Mail by clicking on the Mail tab, select the folder Archives_2008 in the folders list, and right-click and select "Delete" to move it to the Trash folder.
- Select the folder Trash, right-click and select Empty Trash to delete it permanently.
Go back to your Mail by clicking on the Mail tab, select the folder Archives_2008 in the folders list, and right-click and select "Delete" to delete it.
To Import the emails back into Zimbra webmail:
1- In Zimbra Webmail, click on the Preferences Tab, and select Import/Export in the left menu to open the Import/Export page.
2- Under Import, select the file to import from your computer.
3- Select the destination folder.
4- Click on Import.
